Preseason conditioning for Spring Track will start Monday January 7.  Sessions will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:05 until 5:30.  All field events, sprinters and distance runners are encouraged to attend.  Practices will include warm up, dynamic stretches, conditioning activities, and stretches. 

Please come ready for the weather with warm enough layers to stay warm during the entirety of practice.  Please label all clothing items with student name.

Preseason workout waivers are required.  Waivers are located are located on the WMSABC home page, left hand side, the 18th item listed.  Please bring a hard copy to the first session you attend.  

Water bottles are required (again please have student names on bottles). 

An old beach or large bath towel is also recommended for stretching.

An inexpensive watch with a stopwatch feature is helpful for distance runners.

Please know that if your child signs in to a practice session they will be expected to participate in the planned activities for the day.  

If your child is at practice please answer all calls from "random" numbers on your phone.  If your child has suffered an injury or sickness we need you to answer calls.  

Please consider helping during practices.  You will not be expected to run or perform field events.  Typically there are more than 100 students on the track team.  One adults cannot safely manage that number without assistance.  I will be asking parents to volunteer one day per week (Ex. every Tuesday) in order to adequately manage a group of his size.  Duties could include watching throwing practice, timing distance runners, starting sprinters, supervising jumping events.  Assistance is especially appreciated early in the season when we have more access to the track and students learning our processes. If one day a week is more than can be managed, consider trading dinner or babysitting or carpooling with another parent.  THANK YOU!!
